Paradise Cafe

I have always wanted to stop here and it is never open but today it was! They had great food and family friendly service. It seems like a local spot. Maybe 1000 feet from the pacific crest trail. It is the perfect lunch stop going between Palm Springs from San Diego. Today there was snow too!

Why I love it? Because it's Pardise, of course! And I know Gus and Pheonix, personally!..a privilege as to both. Their honey-blonde ain't bad either, (and I ain't referring to the ones behind the counter, although the friendly and courteous staff, not to mention fantastic food, diverse menu, excellent live music, and fun and interesting local patrons, is more than enough reason to make it a regular stopover along the SG Pass, conveniently located almost precisely half way between the desert and the wine county, with Idyllwild just a hop away. They don't call it Paradise for no reason, you know!-)

First time at the Cafe for me, and they were really busy. The waitresses were all friendly and my burger was AMAZING! Will definitely return for more!

Very crowded on Saturday late morning. Friendly and fast service, small dining room but they have outside seating too. Live easy music on the patio even though its morning! Food was quick and delicious, French Toast brandies and dusted with powdered sugar and my Louisiana Omelette is one of their southern specialties. Out in the middle of nowhere, but worth the trip. You'll be glad you made the effort to get there!

Great food. 2nd time in. Wish we stopped in more. One of the waitresses has been there for awhile but I never catch her name, shes great, quick, attentive and always has a great sense of humor.

What can I say. This is a hidden jem. If the food doesn't bring you back the super hospitality will. I was truly impresed. And the burger was amazing. It was the Jose Burger!!

This place is awesome! The Gaucho breakfast that my husband had was delicious 😋. Sadie was our waitress she is bright, cheerful, and knowledgeable of the specials on the menu. Great service! Relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

What a gem! Definitely off the beaten path, but the food was absolutely delicious. The beer selection is quite varied and impressive. We ordered the Jose Burger and a side salad with a blood orange ale and house cab. The burger was juicy and very flavorful. It has the right amount of meat to bread, potato bun, ratio. It was accompanied with crisp bacon, avocado, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. The side salad was refreshing and tasty. Then, we ordered the Tiramasu, homemade recipe. It was huge and quite light. Impressive to say the least. There was a musician on his keyboard and harmonica playing on the patio. This created a laid back feel to our lunch.

Have heard very good things about this cafe.

Fabulous hamburgers, decent milkshakes, good service. Prices are fair for the quality of the fare.

Hiker Haven! I had the 'Gus Burger' with cottage cheese and it was perfect.

I had a very unexpected but pleasant surprise at the Paradise Cafe restaurant this morning. After passing this restaurant numerous times along my road trips, I decided to stop and try out their food. First thing I noticed was how friendly everyone was and the great vibe but then I had a fantastic order of eggs, hot sausage and hash browns. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. The servers were very friendly and the owner introduced himself. It’s obvious that he knows how to run a great restaurant and make his guests feel welcome. I’ll definitely be going back.

Great spot for a ride to and eat destination.

The food was amazing! If you like sweet potato fries, their sweet potato waffle fries will blow your mind! The poppers on the appetizer are good, too! They weren't greasy at all. I ordered the french dip and the meet was on the dry side. Their wasn't much flavor, but the auj sauce was good. The place has lots of things to look at if you're into that.. The good thing is that they do a great job dusting! I will say the service has been lacking. I'm glad they employed young locals, but those young locals should really lap up the opportunity. As a previous server elsewhere, I know it can be an amazing job. However, if you loathe going in, it won't be! We had to wait a while for each step of the dining out process. The servers didn't work together and always looked annoyed when anyone needed anything. It didn't appear that anyone in the restaurant was being overly demanding. Anyways, we will be back.

The Jose burger is awesome. Staff is welcoming and friendly. And your dog can join you at the outside tables ... mine loves the sweet potatoe fries

This place is amazing! A great place to stop on the way back down to San Diego for some home cooking! The coffee was good and kept on coming and the food came out pretty quick! I would love to come back if they were closer to me, but if I ever end up in the area again I will make it a point to stop and say hi! They also had pretty good music in the background. I'll be back!

Good food, great mountain atmosphere and the prices are reasonable. My wife and I stop there with friends on our motorcycle rides. Great staff too, try it you will likeit.

I only went there for breakfast, and it was the best I ever had in my life. The French toast are to kill for. The cinnamon roll is the best I've ever eaten. I don't believe this restaurant can do any wrong.

Loved the food and atmosphere.Such a fun drive up and out of the Desert.One BIG WORD OF CAUTION!!!When leaving Palm Desert...on 74...there's usually speed trap. So, don't let a heavy foot spoil the beginning or end of a special day.

I love this restaurant! They provide good dishes, their menu is rich, The chef in that spot is a professional, I love a lot tasting all their food. The food is consistently tasty, the service towards the visitors is efficient. I frequently visit this place and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends.

Rogue style Cafe with great food and great service. Coming in Joy hometown cooking with reasonable prices. Family friendly crossroads of Highway 74 and Highway 371 in Garner valley. They offer cold beer as well as how to drink including the old soda fountain style root beer floats. Stop by and have a bite and visit with friends everyone there will make you feel at home. Highly recommended for great food and fun.

This place is so good. I got the Porsche Pastrami and it was literally the best pastrami I have ever had. My brother got some burger and he loved it as well. Small town vibe. Very laid back and chill. They had live music, great good, and great service. Price wasn't bad either . They have a full bar, they have a men and women restrooms, wheelchair access, huge parking lot for trailers or RV, indoor and outdoor tables to eat. I recommend this place to anyone who has an opportunity to go there.

Burger was good, beer was ice cold. Bathroom clean. comfortable chairs. I would come back for sure.
